Cincinnati Caledonian Pipes & Drums Band


The Cincinnati Caledonian Pipes and Drums Band is open to any individual who wishes to join the organization. The best way to join is to start coming to our regular rehearsals on Thursday evenings (see below for venue and times). For information on our free lessons program, click here. Thursday Evening Schedule

  • 6:00pm – 7:00pm: Free student lessons (click here for more info)
  • 7:00pm – 9:00pm: Band rehearsal with a brief meeting at 8:00pm

Transitioning into the Band

Students transitioning into the band are classified into 3 different levels according to the tunes they’ve memorized.  Students are assigned these levels after playing for the pipe major, pipe sergeant or drum sergeant. The levels are as follows:
Level 1 – Parade Sets (3 sets and 9 tunes total): Rowan Tree Set, Scotland the Brave Set, Irish Set
Level 2 – Kirkings: Level 1 sets plus Amazing Grace and Highland Cathedral and Cabar Feidh
Level 3 – All Gigs: Level 2 plus all required band music. Suggested next sets:

  • 1976 Police Tattoo set
  • Lord Lovat’s Lament set
  • Teribus set
