The mission of the Cincinnati Caledonian Pipes and Drums organization is to provide a vehicle for:
- A concerted effort by individuals particularly of, but not limited to, Scottish descent wishing to preserve, perpetuate, promote, enjoy and share the heritage of Scottish Customs and traditions.
- Promoting greater understanding and appreciation, within and without the Scottish community, of things Scottish in nature toward a goal of increased harmony and fellowship; and projecting an image of the highest possible standards into the community at large.
- Placing emphasis on the Scottish Arts, primarily bagpipe and drum music, with dancing, singing and mode of dress included. Activities will include study, instruction, practice and performance.
We promote that mission by:
Forming a community pipes and drum band that can perform at local and area functions professionally, with pageantry and dignity.
Forming competition level pipes and drum band(s) that can represent the Cincinnati area in state, regional, national, and international competitions.
Sponsoring instruction in the Scottish art of piping and drumming for all who are interested through local instruction and scholarships for regional courses of study.
Sponsoring through hosting events or providing grants of support to other organizations to entertain and inform the many people in the Cincinnati area, especially those with ancestral ties to Scotland, England, Wales, Northern Ireland, and Ireland.
